When I was sixteen, my mind said, "Get a piece of paper and a pen, and write
down the title 'The Springtime of my Life.'" So, I said, "OK! OK!" I got things
together, and in about as much time as it takes to read it, this is what came. I
hope you enjoy it.
The Springtime of My Life
Inside the heart of everyone
There lives a child of Earth and Sun
Inside My heart, this little boy...
Sees with secret eyes of JOY!
He longs to Love, and loathes all Hate
You'll find plain foods upon his plate.
His problems never complex are...
to him- a star is just... a star.
He loves his work, and does his best
But always finds the time to rest.
So, though his pants have holey knees
he'll be one they always please.
Though content to bed on just the Earth,
he knows the joy of Home's warm hearth.
He follows his heart to find the way,
as he thanks his God for every day.
As you sit and read refrain...
that boy is playing in the Rain!
His bare feet splash to the beat of Spring-
How could he NOT Love EVERYTHING?!?
